Meet The Team

Dr. Moumita Majumdar

Dr. Moumita Majumdar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Centre for Energy Science at Indian Institute of Science Education Research (IISER) Pune, India, since May  2020.

She obtained PhD for her research on Transition-Metal Multiply Bonded Systems from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India in 2010 under the supervision of Prof. Jitendra K. Bera. Then she joined as Assistant Professor (specially appointed) in the research group of Prof. Kazushi Mashima, Osaka University, Japan, where she has worked on Transition-Metal Cluster Catalysis. In October 2011, she moved to Germany for her second Post-Doctoral stint in the research group of Prof. Dr. David Scheschkewitz, Saarland University, where she has gained expertise in Low-Valent Silicon Chemistry and their applications. She joined as an Assistant Professor at IISER Pune in October 2014. Her research interests are Low-Valent Main Group Compounds in catalysis and materials applications.
